Hi 👋
We are Sander and Emilie, a Dutch man and a French girl, who met each other in Picton in early 2018. After a tour of the South Island in our truck, we decided to move to Karamea in 2020 to settle down. Just as the Covid crisis arrived to an end, we decided to look for a new way to start our own business by combining our skills and experiences.

Sander has 14 years of cooking experience as a chef and Head chef in New Zealand, the Netherlands and Australia. He has a passion for baking sourdough bread (and eating it with butter, peanut butter and a sprinkle of sugar) and anything related to fermentation.

Emilie has also worked in restaurants, bar, café and holidays center as receptionist, barista, waitress or manager in New Zealand and in France. She has a Master degree in Tourism and Management, absolutely love contact with people and eat cake (especially one with chocolate)!

We both a have a great passion for good food, especially fresh (as we have our own organic garden at home and cooking everything from scratch) and we try to use local produces as much as we can.
Our style of baking is obviously influenced by European baking (French baking specially) but with the abundance of products available in the area especially in summer, we are enthusiastic to combine them to create something different!

We hope you will appreciate a slice of European taste in Paradise!
